Roll up, roll up! Oi Musica is taking over the Pianodrome for an afternoon of live music and brass-tastic fun – and everyone, young or old, is invited!
Something amazing is happening on the UK music scene – street bands of all shapes and sizes are springing up across the land, and more 'n' more young people are getting involved.
The Sunday Get-Down brings people of all ages together to enjoy live music – and November's event takes this one step further! Under the expert leadership of Beren Airstone (The Incredible Plastic Street Band, Manchester), the audience will be invited to get stuck in, grab an instrument, learn a bit of brass technique and make one Big piece of music together. Piano players also welcome! Kids of all ages will love it! All abilities and complete beginners will be in safe hands... what better way to spend your Sunday afternoon?
There will also be plenty of time to sit back and enjoy some live music, with performances from youth street band Brass Blast, Portobello's Shunpike Social club, guest musicians from SambaYaBamba (Glasgow) and the inimitable DJ Dynamite between acts. And all live acts will be performing acoustic in the remarkable Pianodrome, resident in Leith Theatre's superb grand auditorium for one month only.
Teas, coffees, snacks and bar will be on hand to keep you refreshed throughout.
