We are a very friendly established group who like to sing in an unpressurised environment and meet weekly on Thursday evenings throughout most of the year. Members find us through various routes, only one of which is Meet-up so attendance numbers are way above meet-up responses - between 20 and 30 each week. New members are always very welcome.
You may have sung in a choir in the past, sing just at parties, in the shower or along to recordings or you may have convinced yourself that you can't sing. We believe everyone can sing and that singing is good for our well-being. We are taught by call and response - no need to be able to read music. Penny Stone is our amazing song leader with many years' experience working with all abilities. We cover a wide variety of genres from around the world. Whether it's simple rounds, jazzy numbers, lullabies or much favoured pop numbers from the past, Penny has a great knack of teaching us the melodies and harmonies, keeping us in tune and holding the rhythm.
We are self-funding and have to cover all our costs from our subs. We offer a first taster session for £5, thereafter it's £8 drop-in or £35 for five sessions (to be used within 2 calendar months). We don't have fixed rules about concessions. If you can, we ask that you pay the full rate but if this would mean that you couldn't come there is a concession rate of £5 drop-in. Payments are in cash when you arrive. You don't have to commit to regular attendance - we want you to come when you can.
