In celebration of The Queen's historic Platinum Jubilee in 2022, the Palace of Holyroodhouse will host a display looking back at Her Majesty's previous Jubilees.
The display will feature outfits worn by Her Majesty on occasions to celebrate the Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees. In 1977 for The Queen’s Silver Jubilee, the royal couturier Sir Hardy Amies designed a striking ensemble of dress, coat and stole in pink silk crepe and chiffon with a matching hat designed by Simone Mirman with flowerheads hanging from silk stems. The ensemble was worn at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral on 7 June 1977 marking the 25th anniversary of The Queen’s Accession.
The gift shop features an official range of commemorative products commissioned by Royal Collection Trust to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. The design featured is inspired by the purple Robe of Estate worn by The Queen at her Coronation.. The range includes (as shown below): Platinum Jubilee silver spoons (souvenir pewter spoons featuring iconic motifs from the Coronation, the crown, throne, orb and sceptre), the Platinum Jubilee teacup and saucer (bone china, inspired by the purple Robe of Estate worn by The Queen), Platinum Jubilee crown decoration (keepsake in purple velvet and gold thread featuring elements of the Platinum Jubilee design), Platinum Jubilee tankard (featuring border decoration based on the gold embroidery on the robe, incorporating olive branches and wheat ears to symbolise peace and prosperity).
The Platinum Jubilee Collection also includes a Limited Edition brass carriage clock made by Mappin & Webb (priced £3,495.00), a bone china teapot (£350), and a pair of crystal champagne glasses (£120). Items are also available to order online.
