Greg makes a swift return following NEATs shows in 2018:
"Describing Byron as a Spoken Word performer or even poet is like calling Bill Bailey a musician who tells jokes or Winston Churchill a politician who smokes not technically incorrect but it doesnt tell you the whole story. Its like watching John Cooper Clarke snog John Hegley" BBC RADIO
The man behind the mask, Theatre performer Gavin Robertson, has appeared twice in the Edinburgh Festival and recently returned from shows in Australia. He explains: "I'd made two solo theatre shows and was looking for the third - but with everything in the world right now I was too angry to make Theatre. I went to Florida to write for a month and what came out was poetry about UK benefit cuts, Trump, Brexit, memory, science, pollution, social injustice, trophy wives all sorts of stuff. And the worlds not got any better so Im still writing!"
So is it all ranting and shouting!?
"Oh no! There's a wry kind of sarcasm throughout, but Greg has his lighter moments, hes warm and twinkly! Any show needs light and shade, and its intimate, much more so that doing a theatre show..."
