LOCAL POET ANDRÉS N ORDORICA JOINS US THIS OCTOBER TO LAUNCH THE FIRST OF OUR NEW SET OF EVENTS: POETRY READINGS IN THE BOOKSHOP! THESE EVENTS ARE A CELEBRATION OF THE VIBRANT VARIETY OF EDINBURGH’S POETS, BRINGING TOGETHER NEW AND VETERAN VOICES FROM ACROSS THE CAPITAL.
Andrés’ debut collection was published earlier this year by alternative, award-winning, and independent publisher, 404Ink. In_ At Least This I Know_, Andrés writes his own story in poems of ancestry, nationhood, activism and queerness, through childhood photographs, as well as tales of love and loss.
These poems are a means of working through belonging; from the belonging of immigrant bodies in new countries to the belonging found within families and safe spaces for the queer self. Navigating his family origin and personal journey, from Mexico, the USA, to Scotland, Andrés’ poetry flows from the page and envelops you, welcoming you in.
Join us for a cosy, comfortable evening with one of Edinburgh’s newest and finest poetic voices!
