The Polar Regions are some of the most spectacular yet vulnerable places on Earth. Climate change is causing rapid warming of the oceans, atmosphere and land-based systems in the Arctic and the Antarctic, with serious consequences for the animals, ecosystems and human populations that rely on these important regions for survival.
This two-day exhibition will explore the huge changes underway across vast areas of Earth’s Polar Regions, and what we can do to slow down the global climate change that is threatening these and many other fragile regions of our planet. Expect hands-on science demonstrations, interactive activities for children and adults, lively discussions of these critical issues, and stories of incredible polar experiences from scientists from across the UK and further afield! This event is hosted by the University of Edinburgh and the UK Polar Network.
All activities are drop-in from 10am-4pm and free with admission to Dynamic Earth
Location: Dynamic Earth - Ozone Spill
