Pop Mutations is dusting off and getting back in the ring for 2021! On Saturday 20th March 2021, the in-house booking team behind some of Glasgow’s most cherished music venues and vegan bars, The Flying Duck, Mono and Stereo will host streams from an eclectic mix of local and international artists, bands and DJs as well as talks, art and yoga.
The inaugural Pop Mutations three day festival in June 2020 featured 70 music and cultural creators, including Scottish Album of the Year 2020 winner Nova, alongside exceptional local talent Kapil Seshasayee, TAAHLIAH, Romeo Taylor, Susannah Stark and the Glasgow African Balafon Orchestra, and international artists such as Eleanor Friedberger and Faux Real.
The Flying Duck, Mono and Stereo are synonymous with Glasgow’s eclectic music scene, providing various spaces for new artists, collaborators and forward-thinking promoters. Ingrained in Glasgow’s creative and cultural landscape, the venues operate safe and inclusive spaces. Each venue has a strong individuality and cross-cultural appeal through unique music, art, poetry, performance, film, and club programming. While grassroots venues remain closed and live music is still on hold, Pop Mutations hopes it can bring the vibrancy of the city’s music scene together with new international acts all under one virtual roof!
The winter lockdown has been challenging, we offer Pop Mutations as lockdowns are set to ease and Spring takes hold, a place to come together, celebrate and enjoy music and more from local and international talent. Performing at this edition of Pop Mutations will be…
