Our Cathedral at Noon recitals take place every Saturday, 52 weeks of the year and are performed by a variety of musicians and artists with a variety of instruments. Each recital lasts approximately 30 minutes and is followed by light refreshments. The concerts are free, but donations are always very welcome.
Raemond Jappy and Friends will perform Scottish traditional music at this recital.
Award winning fiddler Raemond Jappy is a proud native of the North East of Scotland, who took his first fiddle lessons with the highly regarded fiddler James Alexander. At the University of Aberdeen he studied accountancy with music and following graduation with first class honours in 2006, Raemond joined accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael CA, where he qualified and now works as a Chartered Accountant.
Raemond is considered to be one of the leading exponents of the North East fiddle style of his generation and won the acclaimed Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship, held annually at Blair Castle, in 2008. Raemond performs regularly throughout the North East of Scotland and beyond, both as a solo fiddler, pianist and singer. He is regularly invited to entertain for the National Trust for Scotland, and he particularly looks forward to an invitation to entertain on Trust cruises.
Musical highlights have included performing for the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House in London, performances for the Duke & Duchess of Rothesay at Dumfries House and participating in a broadcast for Classic FM.
