From the theatre company that brought you ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’, this is your chance to enjoy a lunchtime classic short play and meet the team in an informal setting.
Rapture presents the premiere of Anne Donovan's ‘A Chitterin' Bite’ as their latest lunchtime production - a smart, witty and thought-provoking reflection on life, love, friendship, betrayal, the power of language and the role of food in our lives.
Where do you turn to when a friendship goes sour or a love affair dies?
‘A Chitterin’ Bite’ unravels the story of Mary, a successful Scottish woman coming to terms with her present by reflecting on her past. Told in Scots and English, the play offers a humorous insight into the experience of growing up in Scotland. Rapture Theatre visits the Gaiety Studio with this, their first play in their 2023 season of ‘Rapture Bites’ - bite-sized one-act plays in our Studio with a bit of lunch thrown in, and followed by a chat with the cast and director. Anne Donovan's work includes ‘Hieroglyphics’, the first play performed at Oran Mor, and the multi-award-winning novel ‘Buddha Da’. Anne is delighted to be working on this adaptation with Rapture.
