Refugee Festival Scotland is an annual celebration of the contribution refugee communities make to life in Scotland – the food and drink, music and poetry, dance, visual art and ideas that people bring with them when they seek safety in Scotland.
Taking place at venues across Scotland, the Festival invites people from different backgrounds to meet and mix, to sample a little of each other’s cultures, listen to each other’s stories and get to know each other better.
Taking part in the Festival is a way of standing in solidarity with each other, reaching out
to each other, connecting and re-connecting and building bonds of community and friendship.
This year the theme of Refugee Festival Scotland is storytelling. Everyone has a story to tell and there are so many ways to share them: through music, dance, theatre and film to cookery, visual art, and conversation.
