SAMANTHA FISH www.samanthafish.com
The crayon sketched sign that hangs on the door of the blues venue that reads “Boys Only” has been set ablaze by a new breed of girl guitarists. One of the most talented of these arsonists is a young singer/guitar player from Kansas City, Missouri. Signing a contract with Ruf Records in 2010, Fish has since forged a stellar career in the music business, releasing her fourth album, ‘Chills & Fever’ in March that hearkens back to the R&B/garage rock/Motown/early rock n’ roll sound of Detroit where it was recorded. With a voice God chose to inspire the soul and a golden touch on the guitar a Samantha Fish concert is truly an escape from the realities of modern life. Lauded by such legends as Buddy Guy, the Royal Southern Brotherhood and Luther Dickinson, with an international reputation as a powerhouse blues-rock musician, she also combines the artful sensitivity of Bonnie Raitt and the effortless swagger of the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards.
