In flamenco company María "la Serrana"will be back in the Rose Theatre, with her new show SANTUARIO. After the premiere in hometown Sevilla, the company will be on a month-long tour throughout Europe.
In Santuario the artists will search for the roots of flamenco when the jews, mores and gypsies were heavily persecuted by the inquisition. The styles that were born there have a deaap spiritual meaning in flamenco art. Later in the history, when the flamenco became the glue to the gypsy society, other flaqmenco styles developed, like the saetas and the alboreá, which is only sang at the inner circle of the gypsy weddings.
SANTUARIO is a leap into the depth of the flamenco soul of Andalucía. Marías company therefor consist of the best flamenco singers who are able to muster these styles, Juan José Amador and Pepe de Pura. She will be accompanied by her loyal guitarist Luis Amador and the spectacular dancer Antonio Moreno "Polito".
