Saturday Night Comedy at Blackfriars
Our monthly comedy show is now taking over the prime time Saturday night slot, join our MC Mr Graham Mackie with some of the best stand ups in Scotland.
Susie took her first steps into comedy as part of a drunken dare. Most people have to do a shot or strip. Well, Susie was drunk with her clothes on and building a career out of it.
After a successful career working in the construction industry Susie has cemented herself as one of rising stars of UK stand up. Her rise through the ranks has been nothing short of meteoric.
She continues to be one of the fastest selling acts at the Glasgow international comedy festival, with multiple Scottish comedy awards under her belt for Best Headliner and Best Show which she collected for her Solo show Domestic Disaster. Susie even took it to Edinburgh Fringe for a sold out run in 2019.
Her raconteur style and sharp punchlines makes this Glaswegian one to watch.
Hailing from the Donegal in Ireland this rapid fire, dark one-liner comedian could give Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr a run for their money. If Milton Jones is the Obi wan Kenobi of one-liners then Ryan Cullen is Darth Vader. Not many comedians can write a gag that elicits a gasp, laughter, then cheers followed by applause from an audience, its all about delivery and Ryan delivers with an economy of words, an unapologetic style and surgical precision. He takes you to places so dark you may need to bring a torch but dont worry theres plenty of light in amongst the shade too. Its a balance that delights audiences. Dark, twisted brilliance and one act youll be talking about long after seeing him.
Previous runner up in Irish Comedian of the Year and with appearances on BBCs Scotlands The Comedy Underground, BBC NIS Late Licence as well as appearances on RTE & MTV!
He has appeared on BBC Scotland for The Comedy Underground & Breaking the News.
Several sold out Edinburgh fringe shows & appeared at the New York comedy festival.
Hailing from sunny Perth, this is one comic with two sides. Cheeky chappy he may be, but many a heckler has made the mistake of thinking thats all there is
Joe had his first gig in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh in 1995 and has been a professional comic for the last three years. He has gigged all over Britain and is a regular at The Stands Best of Scottish Comedy shows, which sell out every Fringe.
Career highlights include an appearance on The Weakest Link Stand-up Special. At least, it was a highlight, until Des Clarke voted him off. Joe has, understandably, never quite forgiven him.
A writer as well as a performer, Joe has had success in radio and television comedy with credits on The Karen Dunbar Show, The Live Floor Show and Chewing the Fat. Joe has also appeared in advertising campaigns for Bank of Scotland and the Scottish Sun.
