Join the 2019 Scotland Malawi Partnership Youth Congress to learn more about our bilateral links and connect with other young people!
Have you heard about the Scotland Malawi Partnership’s Youth Congress 2019?
Building on the fantastic events we’ve held in the past in venues like Hampden Park, Glasgow and the Scottish Parliament, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever!
With support from the Scottish Government, Orbis Expeditions, the University of Edinburgh and the National Lottery, the Scotland Malawi Partnership are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for the 2019 Youth Congress, taking place on the 28th February in the beautiful McEwan Hall at the University of Edinburgh.
The event is open to teachers, pupils aged 14+, and young people from across Scotland.
Attendees will choose from a selection of workshops and interactive sessions in the morning or afternoon on topics including language and culture, global citizenship, music, and many others. There will be bespoke sessions for teachers as well, with experts in school trips and group travel to Malawi on hand to offer advice and their experience.
Here’s an outline of how the day will look (times could change but we’ll keep you in the loop if they do):
9.30am – Registration for early session
10am-12.15pm – Workshops/activities
12.15pm-1.15pm – Lunch for early session (attendees will need to bring a packed lunch)/registration for late session
1.15pm-2.45pm – Plenary session for all attendees
2.45pm-5pm – Workshops/activities for late session
Co-designed with our Youth Committee, the event really will be led by young people from across Scotland, celebrating the heritage and culture of the two countries and their partnership.
