Scotland on Tour, the exciting initiative to support the recovery of Scotland’s live music industry, will return to Glenuig this February with performances from An Dannsa Dub and Samson Sounds.
An Dannsa Dub is the brainchild of dub vocalist and producer Tom Spirals, and Scottish traditional musician Euan McLaughlin. Formed in 2020, the six-piece live band combines the instruments of traditional Scottish music and Gaelic song with the driving bass lines of digital dub music. The band is a unique mix of experienced traditional folk musicians and dub reggae specialists, using acoustic and digital instruments. The result is an explosive blend of what the band call ‘Future Dub from Ancient Scotland’.
Glasgow-based Samson Sounds aim to create positive dance floor vibrations with their music, using a combination of voice, guitar, percussion and brass. West African and Latin rhythms and melodies are combined with Scottish influences, emphasising the global nature and power of music. Known for their unique stage presence and uplifting performances, the band has grown through the rich UK soundsystem culture, performing at venues and festivals across the country and beyond.
