From the minute you cross the bridge on your way up the winding drive you will begin to appreciate the beauty of the rhododendrons and azaleas that abound throughout the grounds of Cringletie. You can disappear in to the jungle-like area around the old Doocot and marvel at the depth of colours that spring out at you.
Wander through the “secret garden” and cross the wooden “Pooh” like bridge, down the path by the stream and arrive to enjoy the back of the house and its beautiful bank of colour. Wherever you wander in the 28 acres you will find nature at her best and build up an appetite or walk off a sumptuous lunch or afternoon tea.
Talking of tea, you may like to have one with our compliments and all you have to do is name all the varieties of rhododendrons and azaleas that grow within the Cringletie Estate. Light lunches are available in the magnificent restaurant with its fresco-ed ceiling and overlooking the wonderful gardens. Delicious food and friendly staff makes it feel like home and of course fresh ground coffee, teas of all flavours and a welcoming bar are always at hand refresh you indoors or out if the Scottish weather is kind – if not though we have wellies and brollies ready for you to use, or perhaps just still enjoy the Rhododendron Festival at Cringletie from the comfort of a relaxing view from the picture window.
