Gewurztraminer has long had a cult following in its birthplace of Alsace. Dry or sweet, these wines are bursting with spice and elegance.
At this workshop we'll be delving into Gewurztraminer's fascinating history and comparing some older vintages together with discovering how different soil types make a considerable difference.
The French have a reputation for talking about terroir and particularly when it comes to Alsace there's a very obvious reason for this. Alsace wines are renowned for being made with very little intervention, resulting in them demonstrating what a difference the soil each vine has grown on makes. As they say "Discover the Pure Expression of Alsace".
If you've ever wondered if terroir really makes a difference then come and join us for this fun evening of discovery which is likely to add a whole new dimension to your wine enjoyment.
Starting with a Cremant d'Alsace (sparkling) we'll then go onto enjoy a range of six superb Alsace Gewurztraminers.
Come on your own or with a friend these evenings are friendly, informal and informative. We also enjoy some cheese, charcuterie and a chat after the tasting.
