“Small paintings will not only give the opportunity for art to be seen on a small scale, but forge more of an intimate connection with the artist’s hand. The collection will offer a rich, visually varied group of works demonstrating each artist’s creative vision. The intimacy of these works allows an unmediated direct gesture and their smallness demands close inspection.Their smallness demands close inspection and implies preciousness.
From the edge of portraits and figurative works by Ian (John) Neill to the flowing, smudged landscapes of Madeleine Gardener. Drysdale Scott’s ballerina’s and John McClenaghan abstracted flowers and houses. Small paintings will offer something for everyone.’
