From Lewis to Barra, the Outer Hebrides are bursting with a strong Gaelic song tradition. Come and learn some island songs from award winning Gaelic singer Mischa Macpherson. Born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, with strong connections to the Isle of Benbecula, she has no shortage of repertoire from this beautiful part of the world. This workshop is for all; participants don’t need to speak any Gaelic to attend.
This event will take place in the Exhibition Hall of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
All songs will be taught by ear, no need to read music. Sunday 5th will finish with a big sing for all participants after the last workshop, between 3.30-4pm, in the Green Room, then a mass group sing on the main staircase. Workshops £10 each.
Suitable for adults and children over 12, unless otherwise stated.
The Celtic Connections programme of workshops is designed to inspire people of all ability levels to get involved in traditional music. Please book early to avoid disappointment, as numbers are limited.
