Filthy at Fifty are thrilled to present three of Scotlands most exciting young bands.Packed full of potential, come and see Static Union, The Decrees and Between The Lines showcase their talents at The Windsor in Kirkcaldy.Static UnionWe have very high hopes for headliners Static Union who are an alternative/indie rock band and hail from Glasgows South Side. The four-piece, all aged between 18-20, formed at school in 2014 and their melodic jangly guitar sound has been compared to the likes of Interpol, The Cure, New Order, U2 and Arctic Monkeys amongst others. In the last year, they have received extensive radio play and been picked for BBC Introducing. Their storming debut single Turn Out The Lights, released in January 2017, caught our attention with its blast of driving guitar pop. It has all the markings of a real indie classic! The band has already built up a loyal following having gigged at some of Glasgows prestigious intimate venues, including a headline show at the infamous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. They have also played at Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh and The Finsbury in London. More recently they were invited to perform at The Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the Music For Youth Proms 2017. Clearly things are progressing in terms of interest in the band. Their live performances now exhibit a maturity in both their stage craft and song-writing, which has been honed through a busy year of gigging. The DecreesAnother young band with a bright future are The Decrees from Dunfermline. They are a no-holds barred Rock n Roll band who possess the high-octane energy of Punk. They mix different blends of genres in their songs but still retain a raw and provocative take on music that is reminiscent of a bygone age. The band released their debut four-track EP Screams From Suburbia in April 2017. They wanted to give a musical account of the everyday experiences of the monotony of modernity, blending full-throttle rock music with catchy choruses and beats. Their latest single, the sublime Sons of Rage, breaks with the overall theme and feeling of their debut EP. It was recorded by the renowned Michael Brennan of The Substation Studio (Mogwai, Snow Patrol, Super Furry Animals, Primal Scream), and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones, Lana Del Rey).Between The LinesAlso emerging from the vibrant West Fife music scene, Between The Lines are another exciting guitar band from Dunfermline. These talented young musicians started out as merely a jam group at Queen Anne High School, but things have progressed rapidly from there. They recently played a headline show at PJ Molloys in their home town. The band are hoping to release some material in early 2018 having recently finished recording their debut EP.
