Join us this December for festive Storytelling with Santa at The National Wallace Monument!
Tickets for storytelling with Santa are £5 per person. The ticket also includes entry to visit the Monument where children can learn more about William Wallace as they explore the exhibition galleries and enjoy panoramic views from The Crown.
The sessions must be booked online in advance. Spaces are limited and children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Each year spaces for ‘Storytelling with Santa’ have sold out very fast, so don’t wait around – book your tickets now for this magical Christmas experience!
Event Information: The storytelling sessions are happening inside The Keeper’s Lodge on Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd December 2024.
The sessions are on each day at 11:00am, 11:35am, 12:10pm, 1:45pm, 2:20pm and 2:55pm.
Santa will greet the children and then tell them a short story. They will recieve a goodie bag and have an opportunity to take a photo with Santa. The full session will last around 20 minutes.
Tickets for the event are £5 per person which also includes entry to visit the Monument. All those attending (including infants and adults) require a ticket. Only babes in arms (children under 18 months) do not require a ticket.
There will be up to 10 children and 6 adults joining each session. Seating is limited and adults may be required to stand. The sessions are recommended for children aged 2 – 11 years old.
If you decide to visit the Monument before or after the session, your storytelling ticket should be shown to a staff member at the front reception desk. They will then issue complimentary admission tickets to enter the Monument.
Getting Here: Attendees should arrive at The Keeper’s Lodge (located at the entrance level inside the Monument) at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session. If you arrive after the storytelling has started, you might not be able to enter.
A complimentary shuttle bus service operates between the Car Park and the Monument or visitors can follow The Wallace Way, a series of woodcarvings on the main path to reach the tower. The pathway is steep and uneven in some areas.
The shuttle bus departs every 15 minutes from the Bus Stop in the Car Park, and the journey takes around 4 minutes to reach the tower. The shuttle bus is not in operation from 1:00pm until 1:30pm – and visitors should therefore allow around 15 minutes to walk up from the Car Park to the Monument during this time.
Please be aware that the shuttle bus provided is a free complimentary service and is not part of the ticket price. There may be instances when the shuttle bus will not operate due to circumstances beyond our control.
Accessibility: The Keeper’s Lodge is located at the entrance level inside the Monument. There is one single occupancy toilet. There are three shallow steps leading into the building and two more to enter or exit The Keeper’s Lodge. This event is regrettably unsuitable for wheelchair or pushchair/pram access.
Cancellation: If you are no longer able to attend, please inform us as soon as possible by emailing info@nationalwallacemonument.com or calling (01786) 472 140. Spaces are limited and we want as many children as possible to have the opportunity to join us.
Tickets cannot be refunded, exchanged, or replaced after purchase. The scheduled dates and times of all events are subject to change for operational reasons, or in the event of inclement weather.
If the event is cancelled, an announcement will be shared on the Monument’s website and social media channels. If you have any questions, please call (01786) 472 140 or email info@nationalwallacemonument.com before travelling to the Monument.
