A Gang Show is a professional theatrical performance by youth members of Scouts and Guides. This one, run by the South Western District in Glasgow, will feature about 40 members of Scouting from the youngest Beavers (6 years) to the oldest Explorers (17 years) and a few adult leaders. To make the fast-paced 2-hour show happen they have rehearsed for many months learning songs, dances and scenes. And behind the scenes volunteer staff have been working year-round!
This year’s show contains multiple hit songs, old classics and lovable children songs. All accompanied by a whole bundle of lighthearted sketches. And being stunned by the talent and adorableness of our youngest members, the beavers, is guaranteed. Tickets and more information are available on our website, listed above.
Gang shows originally where started in 1932 in London by Ralph Reader. Since then the format has spread across the whole UK and the world. Each Gang show is a bit different, but all have in common that they are a fast-paced variety show performed by Scouts and Guides. The main aim is to amuse and entertain the audience but also to offer the youth members the chance to take part in a professionally run theatrical production.
