Eighteen years on from the first tribute album, The Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill, honouring the great Paisley weaver-poet and songwriter, a line-up of top Scots singers and musicians reprise their roles from the 250th Anniversary Edition.
Malinky's Fiona Hunter, Deaf Shepherd's John Morran, and rising star Cameron Nixon perform fresh settings of weel-kent and unknown Tannahill songs like The Braes o' Balquhidder and Gleniffer Braes alongside little known treasures, interwoven with commentary by the 5 albums' producer Dr Fred Freeman. Instrumental accompaniment and interludes from the superb team of Phil Alexander (accordion), Adam Bulley (mandolin), Marc Duff (whistles/bodhran), Angus Lyon (keyboard), Frank McLaughlin (guitar), Euan McLaughlin (fiddle/banjo), Chris Wright (cittern).
