We're over the moon to be teaming up with Harvest Sun Promotions to bring Cork-based art-punk rockers The Altered Hours to Future Yard this autumn. The group's drones and rhythms have explored vast psychedelic spaces for a number of years, steadily building an impressive monument of work that has seen them tour across Europe. The quartet return in 2021 with a new single, All Amnesia, on Dundalk's independent, artist-led label Pizza Pizza Records.
The Altered Hours are a band based in Cork, Ireland, whose music explores vast psychedelic spaces, immediate post-punk tones, repetitive rhythms and propelling structures. Having released music with Anton Newcombe's Label 'A Recordings and Irish indie labels Art For Blind Records and Penske Recordings, the band have toured extensively across Europe alongside the likes of Fontaines D.C. Their discography to date has shown an ever evolving style, sometimes unpredictable yet always exciting. Live, they have become known for their intense and exhilarating performances.
The four-piece returned in 2021 with their new single All Amnesia, an exploratory track with lyrics that "represent what it means to forget the past and to be guided only by the desire of the moment, according to singer Elaine Howley. It speaks to the idea that forgetting or suppressing history can lead to erasure of the future and how unwillingness to face our reality leaves us floating in a hedonistic present.
