A roaring success in 2018, the dualing fiddles of The Ambrose House Band return with their unique, relaxed evening of special guests, music song, chat and storytelling.
Inspired by Patrick Geddes’ passion for the Celtic Revival and Edinburgh’s Ambrose Tavern, where ideas were shared with a brew and a song, the Patrick Geddes Centre at Riddle’s Court is delighted to continue the monthly Ambrose Music Club.
Join us for relaxed evenings of chat, acoustic and roots music with strong Scots, Irish and Americana inflection, featuring the dual fiddles of the Ambrose House Band and some very special monthly guests.
Enjoy the evening's musical delights beneath the spectacular painted ceiling of the Geddes Room. Commissioned by Patrick Geddes and supervised by artist Thomas K Bonnar in the 1890s, the panels illustrate a pageant of historical events and allusions, prominent Edinburgh citizens and snippets of Geddes’ philosophical musings.
Tickets include a simple bowl supper.
