Local Aberdeen band, The Bloody Marys, are gearing up for a Christmas of celebration as they mark their impressive 30th year in the music scene. This festive season, the band will be hosting a Christmas special.
Formed in 1994, The Bloody Marys have been a staple in the Scottish music scene, delighting audiences with their eclectic mix of tunes ranging from ABBA and Take That to Kate Bush and the Rocky Horror Show. Known for their infectious energy and tongue-in-cheek comedy style, the band has amassed a loyal following over the years.
The trio, consisting of Ian Gray on vocals, Barry Dodds on guitar, and Steve Morrison on keyboards, has seen their fair share of success since their inception. In 1995, they were honoured with the prestigious Holstein Pils Band of the Year award, setting the stage for their future triumphs.
“We’re thrilled to be celebrating three decades of music and mischief,” says Ian Gray, vocalist for The Bloody Marys. “It’s been an incredible journey, and we owe it all to our amazing fans who have stuck with us through thick and thin.”
As part of their anniversary celebration, The Bloody Marys are inviting fans to participate in a unique experience by choosing which song from their extensive setlist over the past 30 years they would like to see revived. It’s a musical ‘time warp’ that promises to transport audiences back through the band’s illustrious history.
From their humble beginnings to selling out the Capitol Theatre in Aberdeen three times, The Bloody Marys have left an indelible mark on the Aberdeen music scene. Don’t miss your chance to join in the celebration and witness firsthand the magic of The Bloody Marys.
