With hits like ‘Digging Your Scene’ and ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be
This Way’, The Blow Monkeys epitomised the glamour of mid-80s pop at
its most graceful sophistication. In the band’s frontman Robert
Howard (aka Dr. Robert), they possessed a tall, talented, charismatic
singer/songwriter as well as three immensely talented musicians in
bassist Mick Anker (with the trademark bowler hat), saxophonist
Neville Henry and drummer Tony Kiley. Although it's difficult to break
the USA, the Blow Monkeys cracked it and became big in America which
led to them being asked to contribute a soundtrack for a movie. This,
in turn, resulted in them recording their version of 'You Don't Own
Me' to be included in the movie 'Dirty Dancing'. After touring
extensively for several years they broke up in the early 90s and did
solo work before coming together in 2008 to record their next album.
Fast forward to the present, their latest album 'Journey to You'
was released in 2021, after 40 years in the music business.Only food
