Steffi Stern - The Makerss

Emphasising a supportive, encouraging and fun filled environment, visitors to the show can get involved and make some spooky-themed decorations of their own to take home.
With a collective of craft tutors across Glasgow, Dundee and Chorley, Sew Confident was set up with the aim that everyone takes away the creative skills to sew/craft/make on their own, meet new like-minded people and most importantly de-stress. Visitors can get involved with sewing, knitting, crochet, hand embroidery and macramé classes taking place throughout the show for all levels and abilities taught by a friendly team of tutors.
Helen’s work is often inspired by nature. The textile artist uses scrap fabrics held in position using a felting machine to form the background, and then machine embroiders, hand stitches and appliqués to add texture to the pieces, creating beautiful designs. Show visitors can watch Helen at work demonstrating on her painted backgrounds using different techniques at her stand.
After honing new crafting skills from the experts, ticket holders can shop and replenish their home supply stashes with the latest products and creations from exhibitors offering all things from knitting and sewing to felting, quilting and papercraft.
