Every year at The Cumnock Tryst is something special, but in 2024 it celebrates its 10th festival and early hints indicate there are birthday celebrations afoot, including an extra day of music!
A hugely life-affirming music festival, established by one of our best-known and most performed composers Sir James MacMillan, and held in the town in which he grew up, The Cumnock Tryst makes a particular mission of juxtaposing international names in classical music, jazz and folk music, alongside local composers and performers of all ages and stages in its festival each October.
After its largest community project yet, the poignant and often joyful A Musical Celebration of the Coalfields brought the house down in October 2023, all eyes are on it to see what its 10th edition brings.
The programme is announced on 20 April.
