Two of Scotland's most famous iconic characters are treading the boards once again in this fantastic tribute show.
After two sell-out tours, Liam Dolan and Johnny Mac have scoured the archives for some more classic Francie and Josie routines, songs and sketches. They have added them to a few belly laughing fantastic routines. This brand new show is guaranteed to take you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Mac and Dolan first performed their tribute to their childhood comedy heroes more than 20 years ago when they were youngsters to raise funds for a local youth theatre to take a show to the Edinburgh Festival. Their friendship continued and they both pursued a career in variety theatre themselves. They both wrote to Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy and received their blessing and full written permission to perform the act and the material.
A few years ago they decided to resurrect the act which resulted in sell-out performances in Kilmarnock, Ayr, Largs, Falkirk, East Kilbride, Lanark, Greenock, Dunfermline, the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow and the Kings Theatre, Edinburgh.
'The public reaction has been unbelievable,' said an excited Mac and Dolan. 'We have had several theatres re-booking this show and due to the demand for it we already have enquires for another tour in 2018!'
Mary Lee, Mrs Jack Milroy, came to see the show and said it was 'Absolutely brilliant, as close to the originals as you are ever going to get.'
Cat Harvey, radio presenter and columnist said 'The likeness and comedic timing is uncanny as they pay a clever and reverent tribute to their boyhood heroes. Nostalgic, sympathetic and fantastic. Will this show make you laugh and smile? Sure Josie, sure, sure, sure . . . '
