It will consider the use of the classical form to express Scottish identity, and the cultural and political discussions that influenced this choice of architectural form. Dr Kirsten Carter McKee is a Fellow of the Architectural History and Heritage department at the University of Edinburgh. She has published on the Third New Town, 19th and 20th century architecture and identity, and is currently researching how we can broaden our understanding and interpretation of heritage and history to be more inclusive to society as a whole.
