The Oor Wullie Bucket Trail from The ARCHIE Foundation, DC Thomson and Wild in Art, is a huge public art event happening throughout Dundee for 10 weeks this summer. Imagine fifty 5ft tall sculptures of Oor Wullie sitting on his bucket, all individually decorated by artists & designers and located around the city for the public to view, share and adore between June and September.
Trail maps and a digital app will be made available to enable all the folks of Dundee and visitors to the city to go out and find all 50 sculptures and to strike them off their ‘bucket’ list. At the end of the summer (13 Sep) the statues are auctioned off with proceeds going to the Archie Foundation’s appeal for a new twin operating theatre for Tayside Children's Hospital.
You may remember the Wild Dolphins in Aberdeen or the Cows in Edinburgh - this summer come & join in Oor Wullie’s 80th Anniversary as part of the Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design.
Be inspired, get imaginative, celebrate the character and creativity of Scotland and have fun in the biggest mass participation public art event ever to take place in the city.
