From raiders to settlers and traders, the Vikings contributed greatly to Scottish culture and traditions. During this two-day event a Viking re-enactment group will demonstrate various techniques such as authentic cooking, butter churning, weapons display, Viking games and much more!
Come and learn more about the big impact made by the Vikings on Argyll and the Islands during the early medieval period. The Glasgow Vikings, an experienced re-enactment group, will perform a variety of craft demonstrations that will help establish parallels and comparisons between the technology, family life and farming practices of the Nordic incomers and of the later township society, showing how remarkably similar the two were. But beware! When a skirmish arises, someone will be captured and held to ransom. Could they be saved from being sent to the slave market in Dublin?
