Join us to learn about the practicalities of detailed and regular inspections of traditional buildings. We’ll share how a robust maintenance plan can stave off decay and expensive repairs.
Our full-day experience includes a tour of Stirling’s historic Old Town. Our team will point out a range of maintenance issues within the city and discuss the perils of ignoring the warning signs of fabric decay.
For those who cannot join us in person, a virtual ticket is available for the morning only.
You will:
- Understand the basic principles and practical approaches underpinning sound management of Scotland’s traditional buildings
- Recognise the physical and economic benefits of having a formal maintenance programme managed by qualified operatives
- Understand the process of managing regular maintenance inspections for a traditional property, including the compilation of maintenance manuals and logbooks
- Refreshments will be provided on arrival and lunch will be catered. Please contact our events team with any special dietary requirements.
- Visit Historic Environment Scotland's Consumer Terms Site for information on our cancellation and refund policy.
- Walking will be required on the afternoon tour, so please wear suitable footwear and dress appropriately for seasonal weather as the tour will go ahead even if wet.
