Transgressions - ways of avoiding responsibility, ways of avoiding the rules of others, ways of avoiding the expectations of others - these two short dramas will explore the small print of human behaviour where characters follow unconventional, sometimes dangerous, paths to their desires. Vivien Jones is known primarily for her poetry and short stories, she has published (give number of poetry collections, short stories etc.) In 2017 Vivien was one of five winners in the Scottish Short Plays Award 2017, with a five-night run the winning plays at Cumbernauld Theatre. This will be her first commission for drama produced and performed professionally in Dumfries and Galloway D and G based actors, with dramaturgy support from Ken Gouge. Buskers was set up in 2015 by Vivienne Jones and Carolyn Yates to promote new spoken word performances, celebrating the creative processes of women writers, performers and storytellers. This is Buskers first foray into full-scale drama production, previously the company has created spoken word performances and rehearsed readings.
