For our final event - the As an Tobar finale - we have Donald S Murray headlining and launching Birdfall, his new book, complemented by readings by local poet Pauline Prior-Pitt and an Open Mic Session. Donald says, 'Birdfall features the many flocks, flights, broods and gaggles of birds I have seen over much of my life. I have spotted their bright plumage on the shoreline of many islands, from North Uist to my native Lewis, Shetland to Cape Clear in Ireland. Occasionally, too, they have even appeared inland - in a Highland glen or perched upon a city lamp post. There are times, however, they have fluttered into view not on the borders of land and sea, but on the edges of my imagination, a blur at first but given fuller shape later by both my own words and the illustrations of my companion, Doug Robertson. These pages give them a nesting place. My thanks to Jane Morrison-Ross and the staff of Taigh Chearsabhagh for this. They can now fly further than ever before.' - DSM.
