It’s Christmas Eve and John McLafferty is supposed to be doing the decorations before all the family comes home. Supposed to be! But that poorly disguised bottle of whiskey under the tree looks tempting. Needless to say the family (his wife, mum, dad and two children) interrupt him at the crucial moment… just before whisky touches lips! So the decorations go up, the children go to bed and everybody’s ready for Christmas - everything is just as it should be. That is until a mysterious noise from the roof brings an unexpectedly Glaswegian Elf called Eric into their lives.
Eric, naturally, is in charge of Santa’s Sat-Nav and without him on the sleigh Santa will be clueless. He’ll just fly about like he’s had one too many Tennents, there’s no way he will be able to deliver all the presents without a navigator by his side. Will the McLafferty’s help him? Will they take Eric into their arms and tell him it’s all going to be ok? Will they roll their sleeves up and save the day? Ehhh, naw! Naw they won’t! Enter Auntie Elsie, and her souped-up car. Elsie is a different kettle of fish to the rest of the family. She vows to get Eric back onto Santa’s sleigh.
Many, many adventures later, it looks like it’s never going to happen. There’s no way that they will ever catch up with Santa. That is until John has a very bright idea and they head out one last time to save Christmas for all the boys and girls!
