Valtos are an Electronic-Traditional duo comprised of Isle of Skye based Martyn MacDonald and Daniel Docherty. With their early remixes of the Peatbog Faeries, Niteworks, Lapywng, and Project Smok showcasing both the adaptability and variety in their sound, Valtos are seeking to create something both new and vibrant. Finding inspiration in both the traditional music and breathtaking beauty of their home, their self-titled debut album was released in June 2022.
Project Smok is the neo-trad trio of Ali Levack, Ewan Baird and Pablo Lafuente, whose nonconformist and progressive Scottish traditional music has set them apart since their formation in 2017. Known for their ability to effortlessly blend trad music with contemporary new-age pop influences, Project Smok are at their most comfortable pushing boundaries, making listeners stop and re-evaluate their musical expectations. They do away with any perceived limits of genre from the first note.
Kaolila bring you their music - invoked by birds heard on the wind, summoned by the smell of whisky mist; conjured by flickering fish glimpsed through the ice of a frozen lake, raised by the chorus of cicadas baked by the southern sun. Breton language texts by writer Gégé Gwenn; music composed, arranged and adapted by the five women of Kaolila. A paean to the complex figure of woman - her voices lost in time, her stories which marked history.
