The saxophone is becoming an ever more popular classical instrument thanks to the pioneering work of charismatic artists such as Jess Gillam. Dean is in the forefront of the next generation of saxophone virtuosos, with a brilliant technique, hugely appealing repertoire and a wonderful way of linking with audiences. While still a student he has already performed a concerto with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra while still at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and his programme is an appealing mix of classical and modern.
