Join the 150th Birthday celebrations for The National Wallace Monument!
William Wallace’s greatest victory on the battlefield took place in Stirling on 11th September 1297.
On that same day, almost 600 years later, the focus was on Stirling once more with the opening of a new monument built to honour Scotland’s National Hero.
This year, the 150th Anniversary of The National Wallace Monument will be marked with a unique evening illumination event – marking the start of a special programme of celebrations.
An iconic feature on Stirling’s skyline, the Monument can be viewed for miles around. Designed for all to enjoy, this event is free and non-ticketed, and you will be able to see the lighting of the Monument from different viewing points in the Stirling area.
