Join Great Place Falkirk and Botanica Fabula's Amanda Edmiston for this creative and engaging guided walk and workshop, and learn about the healing magic of Falkirk's plants and trees.
Amanda Edmiston is a storyteller with a background in herbal medicine, and combines her knowledge of plants and the way we have used them throughout history with traditional stories that share insights into their healing potential.
Her work is often humorous and encourages participants to delight in the plants around them but also weaves together facts, folklore, traditional tales and herbal remedies using storytelling techniques to create a rich multi-sensory tapestry which audiences have described as being like ‘an enchanting glimpse into a magical garden’.
In this session, Amanda will guide participants from the Falkirk Wheel to the Roman fort at Roughcastle through some of Falkirk's areas of biodiversity, identifying and discussing the history and folklore of the native plants, and how these stories connect us to the land and our community.
This workshop is suitable for all ages, and is a great summer holiday option. So come down to the Falkirk Wheel, and find out more about Falkirk's botanical legends and wild herbal magic through play, exploration, and foraging.
The event is free but must be booked through Eventbrite.
