Concert parties at the front were considered invaluable for raising troop morale. Lena Ashwell was a well-know actress and active suffragist. She combined her various talents to produce concert parties for the troops.The concerts were usually held in YMCA huts but she also held them in hospitals at the front.
The concert will follow the format of the original concert with songs, sing-alongs, music and verse and is a collaboration between Scotland’s War and the YMCA (Scotland).
