We are a small café within a community shop. We offer hot/cold drinks, hot/cold filled rolls and home baking. We display and sell locally made arts and crafts, as well as sweets, soft drinks, ice-creams, newspapers and groceries.
Barr - known locally as ‘The Barr’ - is a lovely conservation village nestling amid the Carrick hills beside the converging rivers Stinchar and Gregg. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and away from the beaten track, Barr offers a haven for wildlife and a welcome retreat to those seeking to unwind.
Barr’s past is peppered with tall tales and colourful characters. Remote and secluded, the Stinchar valley endeared itself to rogues and smugglers for centuries and still offers a warm welcome to today’s visitors seeking a more innocent form of escape.
Continuing its long tradition of great hospitality, Barr is perfectly placed as a base for the many local adventure activities such as
•Hill-walking & hiking
•Cycling & mountain biking
On the Barr Trails are walks ranging from 5km to 13km. There are woodland strolls, farms and fields, and hill top views.
At Barr Community Stores and Café we offer a warm and friendly welcome, where you can have a hot or cold drink, a filled roll and home-baking. We display and sell local art and crafts as well as ice-creams, soft drinks, sweets and groceries.
