The Gardens are extensively landscaped with terraces, mounds and avenues, all of which were created by the 2nd Earl of Stair in the 1730s with the men and horses of the Royal Scots Greys and the Inniskilling Fusiliers. They extend to more than 30 hectares (75 acres).
At the entrance to the Gardens is a wonderful gift shop full of local, Scottish and destinctive souviner items. Also shop at the Plant Centre to create your own garden to relax.
The Tea Room features a relaxed, fresh menu of light lunches, cakes, scones and of course freshly brewed coffee and tea. Picnic tables and a covered patio area encourge you to stay and enjoy the history of the adjacent Castle Kennedy ruins.
