Located in the Royal Burgh of Peebles, near Edinburgh, Cocoa Black is housed in a beautiful grade 2 listed building on the banks of the River Tweed.
Each morning, Ruth and her team of chocolatiers and pastry chefs start work at 5am preparing Cocoa Black's selection of luxury handmade chocolates, cakes and patisserie. If her schedule permits, Ruth can often be seen at the shop chatting with customers over a coffee or delicious hot chocolate drink.
Since being awarded UK World Chocolate Master, Cocoa Black has welcomed many well known faces through its doors. Recent visitors include HRH Prince Edward and world champion cyclist, Mark Cavendish MBE.
In 2016, HRH Prince Edward returned to officially open the new Chocolate & Pastry School, afterwhich he presented Her Majesty the Queen with a box of Cocoa Black chocolates at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.
Cocoa Black will shortly be featured in a forthcoming 6-part BBC TV series (The River) due to be broadcast in November 2016. The fly on the wall documentary follows Ruth and her team as they prepare for the busy summer season.
