Founded in 2015, Esker was established to embrace innovation and produce spirits that deliver a real taste experience to the consumer, starting with gins that are complemented by mixers and garnish, not defined by them.
The distillery is based on the Kincardine Estate on Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire. The gins are produced in copper stills using over a dozen botanicals, including heather, citrus and spice.
Esker have changed the thinking behind the flavours and using silver birch sap, a feature of Royal Deeside, challenged the traditional botanicals and gin recipes. As it stands, they are the only Scottish gin to use birch sap as a botanical.
The Esker distillery has won over a dozen awards for the taste of its gins including International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) gold and silver awards for Esker and Esker Honey Spiced, along with Great Taste Awards.
The distillery is in the process of being renovated with the hope of opening a tasting room and hosting pre-booked tours in early 2020.
