Founded in 2015, Esker was established to embrace innovation and produce spirits that deliver a real taste experience to the consumer, starting with a gin that is complemented by mixers and garnish, not defined by them.
The distillery is based on the Kincardine Estate, Royal Deeside and the gin is produced in copper stills using over a dozen botanicals, including heather, citrus and spice.
Esker have changed the thinking behind the flavours and using silver birch sap, a feature of Royal Deeside, challenged the traditional botanicals and gin recipes. As it stands, they are the only Scottish gin to use birch sap.
Esker received huge success in 2017, winning five prestigious awards including an IWSC Gold and Silver Medal, a 2 star (outstanding) Great Taste Award, Gin of the Year and a Gold Medal in the Scottish Field Gin Challenge. 2018 looks like it will be another record year, with Esker winning the Most Successful Product from the 2017 Awards at the North East Food & Drink Awards in March 2018.
2017 also saw the launch of Esker’s Honey Spiced Gin.
