The Centre is on the Fife Coastal Path and National Cycle Route 1. There is ample parking and there are bike racks, with bike station.
The café is within walking distance to the northern entrance of Tentsmuir Forest, and this entrance is the only one accessible by public transport. The forest contains many trails for walking, cycling and horse riding. The terrain is generally fairly level, and the coastal boundary comprises dunes and a large sandy beach. The forest also includes three national nature reserves, Tentsmuir Point, Tayport Heath and Morton Lochs.
Dolphins can be seen in the Tay, seals at Tentsmuir Point, and red squirrels at Morton Lochs. Otters and deer also live in the forest, while Ospreys and Sea Eagles can be seen hunting. There are bird watching hides at Morton Lochs, about half an hour’s walk from the Café.
