Nature is at the heart of everything we do, from the way we grow and hand harvest our botanicals to the way our gins are packaged.
Everything at The Secret Garden Distillery is grown 100% naturally. We don’t use any chemicals whatsoever, we only use plants to heal plants.
Our botanicals are hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality ingredients. We also always leave a percentage of plants unharvested to allow our 11 colonies of bees to have their fill too.
We use a purpose-built drying room to ensure all the flavours, aromas and medicinal qualities of our botanicals are preserved naturally. Our drying room has a dehumidifier and is heated to 37 degrees Celsius, the same heat as our bodies and a beehive.
We blend our base gin of Juniper, Coriander, Winter Savory and Angelica Root with our very own botanicals. The colour of our gin is from a natural petal infusion which also helps to intensify the flavour. We use no artificial colours, flavours or sugars…just nature distilled. We distil to 39% ABV as we feel this is best for the floral flavours to harmonise with the gin.
Visitors can book tours for our garden and distillery and learn about all the different botanicals that go into our gins, visit our on-site drying room and glasshouse, before tasting our 4 core gins and 2 mystery gins. They also offer a G&Tea Tour where you can explore the flavours of the botanicals through both gin and tea.
