Located in the iconic town of John o’ Groats – Stacks is the UK’s Most Northerly Mainland Bistro. With quirky menus serving vegan, vegetarian and allergen friendly dishes and offering slightly different options to other local eateries.
Mother and daughter team Teresa and Rebecca produce seasonal menus using local produce throughout the year, offering lunches throughout and evening meals during summer.
Your meal can be followed by generous and unpretentious home baking; bringing people back time and time again as the cakes change day by day. All washed down with a freshly poured Scottish Artisan espresso coffee or a local beverage from the bar.
Stacks opened its doors in 2016 following a yearlong renovation of the famous Caithness Pottery workshop by the Wymer family. The award-winning Bistro now sports a big log burner keeping the place cosy throughout the winter and in 2018 landscaped a sheltered summer garden to enjoy the warmth in the better months.
Recommended by Lonely Planet 2019/2020 and rated 4.5/5 on Trip Advisor, holding their Certificate of Excellence for 2018. Stacks is Dog Friendly, suitable for all abilities with a fully wheelchair accessible washroom. John o’ Groats has a large (currently free) carpark with ample space for campervans and cars alike.
